353/365 Angel Tree

Since 1975, I have received a beautiful porcelain angel for Christmas, made by a sweet woman in San Antonio. I received the first one from a friend, then from my mom until she passed away in 1997, and then from my sister, Deborah, to this day. Each angel is unique and is personalized for members of our family. They are very special and I enjoy gazing at them every year.

344/365 Almost looks real

James loves the Dickens Village and sets it up with loving care every Christmas.
I had fun shooting the scenes that he created. This one almost looks real!

343/365 Tree shots

A few shots of our Christmas tree.
I really like the way they turned out, but next time I'll remove the lamp with the light shade since the eye is drawn there first.

342/365 Red birds

Red birds are rumored to bring good luck, so I put at least one on every Christmas tree in the house (I don't really have a zillion trees ;) just the main one in the living room, a small tree in the den, and the tiny tree in the kitchen). I found this gorgeous bird while visiting and shopping with my dear friend, Anita!

341/365 Orchestra Christmas

Every year, since Alex was in the 6th grade, we have attended his orchestra Christmas dinner/fundraiser/concert. This was our 6th year. The food is always good, the raffles are fun (especially since I won two nights at a very nice hotel in a nearby town), and the concert is always excellent!

340/365 Always clean your lenses!

That's right, always clean your lens! My bokeh is so dirty! What a bummer; but a valuable lesson was learned :o)
This ornament was on our Christmas tree when I was a child and brings back wonderful memories!

339/365 Going, going, gone

This idea is from a recent post of The Pioneer Woman, showing Charlie in stages of falling asleep. Here is Porter, our sweet Boxer, doing the same. Thanks Ree!

338/365 Decorating

James and Sam help decorate the tree and it seems to be very serious business!

337/365 A Dignitary and a Mean Green Fan

Today Bill rode as a dignitary in the 40th Annual Richardson Christmas Parade! We are enjoying life in a small town in the midst of the Metroplex. The Mustang Club was out in force to carry the dignitaries, and Bill loved it (the Mustang and being a dignitary, a new role for him). NETWORK Community of Ministries is a city-wide outreach center that provides food, clothing, school supplies, etc. to those who are in need.

Bill sees me in the crowd!

Back in dignitary mode!

Then, we spent the afternoon and evening with Amy and Scott, at the last UNT game of the season! Rain was pouring down and the Mean Green was pouring points across the goal line, as we watched from under the overhang of the top layer of the stadium. Thanks A & S, we had a great time! Sorry you have to look up my nose... =]

336/365 Hanging Christmas Lights

Bill and James hang the blue lights!

"Thank goodness I combed my hair, Mom." I love this boy!

335/365 My first official walkabout

This evening I strolled down Main Street in Grapevine, on my first photo walkabout, with six other gals who had varying degrees of camera experience and expertise. Barbara, who owns Legacy Studios, guided our photographic efforts! Here are a few of my favorite shots. Can you find the elf on the shelf? I even saw Santa on a shelf - I guess Grapevine really needs watching over! (tee hee)
